Microblading 101:

Microblading is the subtle tattooing of hair strokes into the eyebrow to mimic a natural hair flow. Microblading is very soft and natural looking once healed. The color looks very vibrant and bold when it is first done, but the color will ultimately soften to be 20% lighter and blend with your natural hairs. If you are looking for something more saturated and bold, I promise you will not achieve that with microblading alone.

I tell my clients all the time that microblading is not NO maintenance, it is LOW maintenance. Once healed the color saturation of microblading will always pale in comparison to makeup, this is because the pigment is now in your skin rather than on top of it. Once the color is in your skin, it takes on the color of your skin tone which mutes the color subtly. When using hyper pigmented makeup, most people fill in their brows to make them look more saturated; There is a nice shape to follow when doing your brows, which makes it Low maintenance.

How long does it last?

Everyone’s skin and lifestyle’s are different, which can effect the color retention. On average it can last from 1-3 years. Knowing when to come back can be challenging, but I will reach out 1 year after your last session to check in with you and see how they have aged. This will help take out some of the guess work in when you should come back!

Microblading can not be done on anyone with the following:

  • Rosacea
  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Taking blood thinners, Accutane, or any other retinoids
  • Fresh sun burnt/tanned skin

If you have oily/thick skin Microblading alone will not hold as well. The clarity of the hairstrokes will blur and create a more powdery look as the natural oils in your skin cycle out the pigment faster than those with dryer skin types. The combination brow is what I often suggest for people with these less ideal skin types. The combination brow is just as it sounds, a combination of the microblading hairstrokes with a soft powder shading in between the hairs to create the illusion of density and fullness.

How to prep for your brow appointment:

  • If you have reference photos feel free to bring them to your appointment.
  • If you want to get your brows waxed or threaded do so at least 48 hours before your appointment, otherwise stray hairs can be removed after we shape out your brows.
  • No tanning for 3 weeks prior to your appointment. If you have a fresh tan or are sun burnt I cannot work on you.
  • Do not take any medications that may thin your blood (Asprin or Ibuprofen)
  • Do not come to your appointment hungover! No drinking the night before or the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid excess caffeine the day of your appointment. One small cup of coffee in the morning is fine.
  • Any Treatments such as, lasers, peels, waxing, Botox, tinting, etc. should be done no later than 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after your appointment.

All of the above may cause bleeding, which will affect how the pigment takes to your skin.

I CANNOT GUARANTEE THE SAME RESULT FOR EVERY CLIENT! I WISH I COULD, BUT IF YOU HAVE:

Very oily skin, Enlarged pores on your forehead/face or acne prone skin, Skin that is very sensitive or reactive. Eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or melasma. Really thick, dark, coarse eyebrow hair. Take medication. Suffer from autoimmune issues. All these can negatively affect your outcome.

The Combination brow is best for anyone who has less hair, thick hair, oily skin, or just simply want a bolder looking brow. It is a combination of soft powder shading applied in between hair strokes to give the illusion of a fuller, denser looking brow. This will still looking incredibly natural once it heals; The color will soften and the true results will reveal a nice textural balance of hairs and subtle shading that can camouflage bald spots and scars and properly distribute density in the brow.

The combo brow can be done in a few different ways to achieve specific looks such as:

    • Ombré Style
    • Full Density
    • Targeted Powder (most natural results)

How long does it last?

Everyone’s skin and lifestyle’s are different, which can effect the color retention. Considering it will last longer than microblading alone, it can last from 2-3 years. Knowing when to come back can be challenging, but I will reach out 1 year after your last session to check in with you and see how they have aged. This will help take out some of the guess work in when you should come back!

Lip Blush is a soft and subtle application of a sheer color into the lips, there are no harsh outlines, just a subtle blush of color to define the full shape of your lips making them appear pump and flushed! A custom color is mixed for each and every client based on their skin color, undertones and existing lip shade. Lip Blush is for ALL lip tones. Melanin rich or darker lips may require more than two appointments to achieve target color. Here’s some important “need to know” info regarding the Lip blush process:

  • It is done with a machine, unlike microblading. The type of machine still leaves little trauma to the skin
  • Pain is minimal – 2 anesthetics are used to keep you comfortable!
  • Healing time is very quick and very easy, just a few days of applying a moisturizer & avoiding spicy foods/swimming/sauna
  • The area will be slightly swollen for a day or two (but nothing you have to hide away from, they’ll just be plump)
  • Color is very vibrant for the first 2 days then begins settling in, softening and turning very natural
  • This is a two step process: we will book your second session when you are in the shop
  • Cooler/ darker lips might require extra sessions to achieve desired results.

Lip Blush Pre-care:

Lip fillers

you MUST wait at least 1 month before/ after getting your lips tattooed

Cold sores:

If you’ve EVER had even 1 cold sore on the outside area of your mouth or on your lips you MUST take doctor prescribed Valtrex or a similar antiviral at least 3 days prior and 3 days after getting your lips tattooed. If you don’t- this procedure will trigger an outbreak that will affect healing- so this is very important & very easy to avoid!

Moisturize:

make sure your lips are well moisturized in the days leading to the appt. Dry, cracked lips won’t heal nicely!

How to heal & what to expect:

Day 1

Your skin will start slowly releasing lymph fluid right after your procedure. This is a common healing process for our bodies! Clean lips every 30 minutes with the sterile wipes included in your kit. This reduces your scabbing. Moisturize before bed. Use a straw when drinking, and eat with a fork and knife. No kissing, or cross contaminating your lips with anything for the first 24-48 hours.

Sometimes light bruises may occur, even after the procedure is over. It is normal and will disappear after a few hours.

Day 2

The lips may still be slightly swollen today and it will look like you’re wearing lipstick. Its normal for them to feel chapped or wind burnt. Moisturize with Aquaphor or tattoo balm I provide 5-6 times a day. Try to keep your lips out off direct sunlight while they are healing.

Day 3-7

Keep moisturizing as needed! Its ok for lips to dry out slightly between applications. Some light flaking and peeling may occur- this is normal. IMPORTANT! Do not pick or rub any dry skin! It must shed naturally. If you pick or peel the skin it will take the tattoo out with it and you will have uneven results. Once it sheds it will appear very light in color

One month later you will notice the actual healed results from your session in 4-6 weeks. You’ll notice a few color changes throughout the month. Patience is key!

WHAT IS LASH ENHANCEMENT?

It is the soft application of pigment into your lash line. It is designed to create the illusion of darker and fuller eyelashes. It gives a natural definition to the eyes, giving a subtle pop!

This is a tattoo on your lash line, NOT the waterline nor the eyelid, but directly where your lashes grow.

Excellent for almost all eye shapes and those seeking a very natural look.

WHO IS IT GOOD FOR?

  • Clients with thin or sparse lashes looking to shorten their makeup routine
  • Lash enhancements are best for those looking for a minimal to no-makeup look

NOTE: These procedures are NOT recommended for individuals with  sensitive eyes or those who experience frequent eye irritation

PRE-CARE

No fake lashes – they have to be removed at least 4 weeks prior to the appointment and can’t be put back on until 4 weeks after the touch up.

No lash serums for at least one month before.

No lash lifts/tints at least 10 days prior, and must wait 2 weeks after touch up

No Blepharitis (eyelid infection, usually caused by poor makeup removal habits and falsies)

Eye surgery needs a min of 6 months before tattoo

Surgery on the actual eye itself needs a note from doctor

I recommend a week of dry healing. Clearly, our eyes are naturally wet but just refrain from soaking your eyes area in water (shower/ bath/ swimming), avoid saunas, wearing eye makeup, applying moisturizer, etc.

Some puffiness can be normal for right after and the following couple of days. Unless one has extremely sensitive eyes and they experience more than the usual puffiness or redness, it shouldn’t affect normal day-to-day activities.

Day 1

There may be some swelling by end of day. Clients may apply ice over a clean cloth, but not directly on skin.

Day 2

There may be some swelling, but should go down by the end of this day or the next.

Day 3

Skin may feel dry, this is normal. A light layer of coconut oil or aquaphor may be applied, but very carefully and not in excess.

Day 4 & onwards

Continue to keep area dry and free of makeup/products until scabs are gone (no sauna, pools, sunbathing, do not peel scabs)

Between appointments, be careful not to use creams/products that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.

Brow lamination is a softening and straightening treatment for your brows to increase your styling options. It can last 4-6 weeks. It makes unruly brow hair more manageable and easier to create that coveted fluffed up look. If you have brow tattooing that isn’t quite ready for a touch up, this can breathe new life into your brows! It is a game changing service to switch up your look without the commitment.

Love freckles, but aren’t sure if you want to commit to tattooed freckles? This is the perfect solution! These freckles will last 7-10 days, we can do as little or as many as you would like. The color will slowly develop and look more natural 24 hours after application. If you love the way they look you can get them tattooed and they will last 1-2 years. This process is safe for people of all ages and skin types!
